I saw this quote on Tumblr about 4 years ago. I found out that it was from Looking for Alaska, so I searched everywhere for a physical copy (because I didn’t have an iPod/iPhone yet and iBooks probably didn’t exist yet either).

It took me two weeks to get my hands on Looking for Alaska, and about two days to finish it. I was a slow reader back then, you see. Now I can finish it in one sitting.

Oh Tumblr. See how you affected my life.

Then again, what else is new? I think I should start sleeping early though. School starts in 3 days (yes, I start on a Wednesday because I don’t have classes on Tuesdays). An architecture student’s normal sleeping time beings from 11pm to 1am and ends at around 4am to 6am depending on where he or she lives.

On average, I get about 4-5 hours of sleep during school days. All that will change now, though. I’ll do my best to work as soon as I get home as well as sleep as soon as I’m done. For now, I’ll go to bed. It’s 12:30am, and 2hrs and 30mins past my preferred bed time.

My last entry for that slot amongst 23 fellow photographers in the staff position at ShutterbugsPH would be this candid photo of my best friend for a fun shoot we did at SM Mall of Asia. The guard caught us by the rocks and told us it was prohibited, so we scurried along. I got out ahead, but Stephan came out and I just shot candidly.

I hope this photo brings me luck. It’s amateur, but I’m sort of proud that it was candid, smooth, and completely frozen.

I do concert photography as well, though this may or may not have been taken by me. There is a 50% chance that it was or wasn’t by me. I was pretty much the shortest person at the concert, but I did snap away for some time.

This is one of my proudest moments. I caught a grasshopper the size of my thumb. Gross, right? But I was able to capture this photograph with my D3000’s kitlens + a macro auxiliary lens.

What can I say? When I’m determined, I find ways.
